Pot Holder

Slanted PotholderThere are some items that no longer seems to fit with their name.  Take for example the glove compartment.  I'm sure, at some point, it actually was used to store gloves, but, at least for me, it seems more of a catchall for whatever paperwork happens to be floating around in my car.  We also have the pot holder.  Technically, it's not actually holding a pot.  I'm holding the pot and it's merely sandwiched between the two.  I offer a proposition that we change the name of the Pot Holder to Hand Saver, because it deserves more honor for the service it provides us.

In honor of the Pot Holder aka Hand Saver, we have the pattern and video tutorial so you can make your own and pay your own tribute to it.  Make one or make a lot and hand them out as gifts.   In turn, you'll become sort of a hand saver as well.

Also check out half apron and produce bag, each have a video tutorial and pattern.

I don’t have any sound on my computer, so I had to use the Closed Captioning. I was LAUGHING so HARD at the translation!!!! I’m going to have to watch this a few more times, (hopefully without laughing) Thank You for the tutorial though, I have been wanting to make a FEW potholders for awhile now!!! 🙂

when you click on the pattern, it opens in a new window, Click on that new window, then move your mouse over the pattern, at least when using chrome, a save icon will show at the bottom, save it to your computer. For other browsers, maybe right click on the pattern and do a “save as”.

Hi. I download everything on my iPad. I use Dropbox for all my patterns. If you get winzip, the free app, it unzips the file and changes it to a PDF. It’s super easy and only takes about 30 seconds.

The winzip app is free. It unzips it and changes it to a PDF. Super easy to use. Then you can view it on your iPad.

Short answer is you can’t download on an ipad and need to use a non-mobile device, like a desktop. Truthfully, it may be possible but it’s a lot of hassle. Because our pattern is zip file, you’ll have to download a 3rd party app of some kind on to the ipad that allows you to view zip files. sorry!

I’m so sorry. I missed seeing this comment and the holidays are a bit hectic this year. The trick to doing the corners is to use the stretchiness of the bias tape. So when you get to a corner, stretch the tape a little bit and then use a lot of pins to work out any puckers. I hope this helps!
