Rocker Dresss – McCall’s Pattern 6754

McCcall's Pattern 6754 Rocker DressMcCcall's Pattern 6754 Rocker Dress Close McCcall's Pattern 6754 Rocker Dress Side Many times I come across beginner sewers who believe that it'll take some time before they'll be able to tackle a project that's cool, fun, and something they'll actually want to wear. Not to knock pajama bottoms and tote bags, but it's understandable if a lot of sewers have bigger and better visions on what they want to accomplish with their new sewing skills. To those people, let me introduce you to McCall's 6754. This dress rocks (hence the name) and it's an easy dress that can be completed by a beginner. Yes, you can do this! And if you're still unsure, don't worry, we have a full length tutorial here to show you exactly how it's done.

The dress is simple but still has a lovely style. It's made with a knit lace and a tricot lining. Since both the lace and lining are stretchy, there are no fasteners so this dress is simply a pullover. The bodice is body hugging with a scooped neckline and the skirt is circular so there's enough fullness for twirling. We loved taking this dress and rocking it out, but the style is versatile that you can really take it any direction.

Very cute and flattering. Excited to try this tutorial someday- as of now, I am just a beginner and starting on your half apron tutorial. Thanks!

You know, I wondered about that too. I’ve always done stretch stitches when working with knit fabric and, in previous McCall patterns I’ve used, they’ve always made a special mention of it in the directions. These directions didn’t make any mention of it at all, so I just did a regular ol’ stitch and didn’t become nervous until it was time for the model to try it on. Lo and behold, the dress fit her perfectly and she said it wasn’t at all hard to put on. But if you’re unsure, you can always do stretch stitches to play it safe. 🙂

Super cute dress! I could see this dress for the summer with some darling sandals to wear with it.

Wow. I just love the colour, I think this dress would even be fabulous if made as a corduroy jumper for fall. Cotton or Jersey in the Spring. Favourited!

I love this pattern. It is perfect for many age groups. I can’t wait to make it before hot weather is upon us. I was just wondering, aren’t stretch stitches needed for this knit fabric?

Aaaaaaaaahhhh! So nice! I would love to make this lovely dress and wear it in Spain during my summer holidays. @^.^@ But I think it would be great to combine with a blazer too.
