Rocker Dresss – McCall’s Pattern 6754

McCcall's Pattern 6754 Rocker DressMcCcall's Pattern 6754 Rocker Dress Close McCcall's Pattern 6754 Rocker Dress Side Many times I come across beginner sewers who believe that it'll take some time before they'll be able to tackle a project that's cool, fun, and something they'll actually want to wear. Not to knock pajama bottoms and tote bags, but it's understandable if a lot of sewers have bigger and better visions on what they want to accomplish with their new sewing skills. To those people, let me introduce you to McCall's 6754. This dress rocks (hence the name) and it's an easy dress that can be completed by a beginner. Yes, you can do this! And if you're still unsure, don't worry, we have a full length tutorial here to show you exactly how it's done.

The dress is simple but still has a lovely style. It's made with a knit lace and a tricot lining. Since both the lace and lining are stretchy, there are no fasteners so this dress is simply a pullover. The bodice is body hugging with a scooped neckline and the skirt is circular so there's enough fullness for twirling. We loved taking this dress and rocking it out, but the style is versatile that you can really take it any direction.

Are you loving it? Purchase pattern McCall's 6754 here.

Love this! My daughter and I are learning how to sew and we could totally rock this!

I know who I would make this dress for. My oldest daughter and her husband have an alternative rock band and this is exactly what she wears! Even if I don’t win I will be purchasing the pattern for my summer sewing projects!

This would look great with a cropped jean jacket or blazer. You could also pair it with leggings, a skinny bow belt and sky high heels.

This dress is SOOOO ME!!!!!! It would be so much fun to make and wear! I would probably make 2 or 3 in different colors! Since I started sewing in September I have made 6 dresses, 4 skirts and 2 shawls. Also, I have used my sewing skills to make cloth-covered hairbands with bows that are sewn together prior to assembly. Please pick me!!!! Thanks!!!

I would be tempted to do a play on colors with the top and the skirt, and make the skirt a little bit longer so I would be more likely to wear it. If I win this it will be my first pattern I have done ever, since up until now Ive been intimidated wtih the idea of doing a dress for fear I will get fustrated and quit. But who can miss with a pattern AND a professor pincushion video to walk you through step by step?? I can see me treadling away on my vintage singer working happily on this little number!

This dress is so cute. My wardrobe is sadly lacking in the dress dept. I would love to win this pattern 🙂

Dear professor pincushion: I am fairly new subscriber to your face book and you tube page. I would LOVE to win this pattern. Very cute, versatile, and would certainly shave some years off me. 🙂
