Welcome to our site! 🙂 I understand what you mean. I’ve been doing this for a long time and my cutting is still not perfect. Just remember not to be too hard on yourself. It also depends on what you’re cutting out. Usually cutting out fleece or cotton is going to be easier to cut out than say chiffon or silky fabric. If you’re fabric is slippery, you can pin your fabric to tissue paper first. You can also invest in a rotary cutter, ruler and mat. This makes cutting out straight lines a breeze. Normally you use a 45mm rotary cutter. If you cut out curvier edges, I would go with a smaller size blade. If you’re interested in rotary cutting, check out this tutorial
