Coats & Clark gave us some thread from their new line, Eloflex. This is a stretchable thread and we have an extra set for one lucky person. This thread is different than traditional elastic thread in that it looks similar to regular thread and you can thread it in the top and bobbin area of your machine, just treat it like normal thread. If you pull on it, it does have a slight stretch so you can sew your knit seams with a straight stitch instead of a zigzag stitch. I’d use it for sewing with any stretch fabrics. I’ve put off making things with knits after the last time I made a costume for my brother using spandex, it was like sewing water. I would love to try this.
I have a few sewing patterns for stretch fabric pants,tops and dresses, this is what I will be needing soon for best results!
