Eloflex Thread Giveaway

This Giveaway is over.  Congratulations to Carol from Indiana

Coats & Clark gave us some thread from their new line, Eloflex.  This is a stretchable thread and we have an extra set for one lucky person.  This thread is different than traditional elastic thread in that it looks similar to regular thread and you can thread it in the top and bobbin area of your machine, just treat it like normal thread.  If you pull on it, it does have a slight stretch so you can sew your knit seams with a straight stitch instead of a zigzag stitch.  If you want to enter our giveaway, leave a comment below and let us know what type of project you'd love to use this thread on.  We'll pick a winner at random on September 19, 2017.  Enter now before it's too late!

I am getting over my fear of sewing with knits. I have a project waiting to be constructed and the threat would receive a warm welcome. :0). I’ve always had a fear of sewing with knit and I have done all the drafting using your knit pencil skirt pattern and am ready to sew away. Thanks again for this pattern help.

    Hi Professor Pincushion

Professor Pincushion is my favourite sewing site, and I have learned to love using knit fabrics as a result of the videos posted. However I have an old sewing machine and the zigzag stitch has deteriorated, and is quite poor. Using the Eloflex stretchy thread in a straight stitch may well improve the results of my projects, and I am happy to report on the outcome afterwards should I be fortunate to win this prize.

Many thanks for all your sewing tips, you are a pleasure to have on my home PC. Anne

I want to make some rompers out of knit fabric but have never tried the stretch thread Eloflex. I have lots of projects that I would use Eloflex on. Woohoo!! Fingers crossed

I just started making leggings and I’m learning to make plus size clothing for myself, so this thread will help a lot in my stretchy clothing endeavors. I also want to make myself some exercise wear with this thread.

Oh My! I would love to try this out on a knit fabric I have hoarded in my closet for a “wrap” type sweater project I keep putting off/saving. I am so nervous to start it, however this may just push me over the edge to get started on it!!

I’ve been gathering beautiful knits and patterns but picking zig-zag is holding be back. It would be wonderful to try a stretchy thread that would allow using a straight stitch! Thanks.
