Rocker Dresss – McCall’s Pattern 6754

McCcall's Pattern 6754 Rocker DressMcCcall's Pattern 6754 Rocker Dress Close McCcall's Pattern 6754 Rocker Dress Side Many times I come across beginner sewers who believe that it'll take some time before they'll be able to tackle a project that's cool, fun, and something they'll actually want to wear. Not to knock pajama bottoms and tote bags, but it's understandable if a lot of sewers have bigger and better visions on what they want to accomplish with their new sewing skills. To those people, let me introduce you to McCall's 6754. This dress rocks (hence the name) and it's an easy dress that can be completed by a beginner. Yes, you can do this! And if you're still unsure, don't worry, we have a full length tutorial here to show you exactly how it's done.

The dress is simple but still has a lovely style. It's made with a knit lace and a tricot lining. Since both the lace and lining are stretchy, there are no fasteners so this dress is simply a pullover. The bodice is body hugging with a scooped neckline and the skirt is circular so there's enough fullness for twirling. We loved taking this dress and rocking it out, but the style is versatile that you can really take it any direction.

You can do a zig zag stitch if you want. The directions for this pattern didn’t specify doing a zig zag stitch, which they do normally do when sewing with knit. So I just did a regular stitch and it worked out fine. I did not have any threads break when worn.

Great video, I just have one question, why are you using a regular stitch instead of a zig zag for stretch fabric, won’t the thread break?

This dress would look incredible on my daughter. She has a great figure and this would be so flattering.
