Hot Iron Transfer

Hot Iron TransferYears ago, I picked up a vintage kitchen towel at an antique store.  It was in great shape and had a little dog hand embroidered on it.  It was adorable and I loved it but, because I kept it in my kitchen, there came a time where it got too stained and I wasn't able to get these removed.  It definitely made me sad, but I recently bought a hot iron transfer with vintage looking dogs on it at a yard sale.  Here was the answer to my problems. At this point, I had never used these types of transfers before but I was eager to decorate my kitchen once again with its adorableness.  I tried it and it worked wonderfully and hand embroidery was so fun and relaxing so I'm excited to make more!  Are you now intrigued and want to give it a whirl?  Watch our new tutorial!  We show you how to use hot iron transfers to create a design on aprons, towels, tote bags and even garments so that you can add a handmade touch of embellishment.  We also go over some common stitches used so you can start a new project today!

Enter our Aunt Martha's Hot Iron Transfer Giveaway!  We have three of the Dog Days Cowboy Transfers to giveaway!  Simply leave a comment below telling us what type of project you would like to use these embroidery designs on.  We'll choose 3 winners end of day on September 30th.   For official rules click here.

My mother loved to transfer things onto pillow cases and other things and hand embroidery or use acrylics paints which were both very beautiful. I am so thankful to her to pass it on to me. Love transfers and thank you for giving us a chance to win!

I run a small crafting club for girls, we are doing some sewing now. I would use the transfers to teach them some hand embroidery, to put on their jeans or a tote bag. I have a denim skirt that I wear for our messier crafts that I am slowly embellishing as an example to them that hardworking clothing can also be beautiful.

This is so cute! The trivet you made is adorable, I would use the transfer to make one (or more!) just like it (my stash is so embarrassing, I won’t use them when company is visiting. I just use a folded dish towel to keep from them seeing the mess!)

I have used Aunt Martha transfers for many years and love them, I would use them on kitchen towels.

I love vintage and new Aunt Martha Transfers. These dogs would be adorable on a circle skirt to wear dancing!
Thanks for the tutorial and for the chance to win!
