When I was first learning to sew, I always thought of darts as the advance stuff–the part of sewing that was scary. Looking back, I have no idea why this was when all a dart is, is the fabric folded and then sewn in the shape of a triangle. What's so scary about that? Nothing. In fact, sewing darts are common in garment sewing, especially if you plan on working with woven fabric and don't want all your clothes to look box-y. This tutorial will cover the purpose of darts, different types, and tricks to sewing them so even a beginner will have no problems with them. Dart are important so let's make sure we do it right!
