Learning to do a buttonhole on a sewing machine may sound a bit daunting but the trick is using the right presser foot and then knowing your machine well enough to know how to create the sides and ends of a buttonhole. Buttonholes, though, give that extra bit of professionalism to your item so it's well worth knowing how to do it. Not only do you want to learn how to create a buttonhole but learn how big to make them, how to find proper placement, and how to cut them open. Once you see how easy it is to create buttonholes using your sewing machine, you'll be eager to sew a garment with them.
