I have been trying to true up my fabric with limited success. It is a cotton/poly blend, with a repeating tie-die flower pattern, each flower about 5 inches apart.

I put the selvages together and there was a bubble. I stretched across the bias a couple of times and voila, the bubble disappeared.

    Great, right? Wrong.

Here’s the problem. With the selvages pinned together, now the folded edge of the fabric has a smile shape from cut edge to cut edge. Any ideas as to what I can do?

Hmmm….that’s weird. You may have a twisted grainline, which I’ve had but it was never curved like you described. It just sounds like your fabric is warped. Is it new fabric? Anyways, here’s a link I found for fixing twisted grainlines http://sewing.about.com/od/beginner1/ss/fabricgrain_3.htm
