Hello Professor Pincushion ! I have been learning so much from your videos and have accomplished a few sewing projects because of them. I recently purchased some very expensive athletic leggings (i am a trainer and wear A LOT of them). These particular ones are much longer on me than usual and if i hem them (as i have done most of mine), the bottoms are too wide since I would have to cut off so much. Is there way to tapper leggings?
do they have a side seam? I’d put them on inside out and and pin the edges where you would like the new seam to be. If it’s hard to do yourself, have a friend help you. Where the new pins are, mark it with fabric chalk and then baste it. Try it on again and make sure it’s what you want and then you can do a more permanent stitch to hold it in place. Hope that helps!
