I have a dumb question. I am having trouble squaring up my fabric. I know how to put the two selvege ends together and hold them up and adjust the look if it does not hang right but when I go to cut it along the sides or bottom I can see to get a straight cut. It some how appears slightly crooked. What am I doing wrong? Is there any special way or tricks to getting a perfectly straight cut? I don’t know why this is such a problem for me but it is. Thank you for your help!

You can do is pull a thread from selvage to selvage and then cut along the line created by the missing thread. Also, you might want to invest in a rotary cutter, mat and ruler and then you can cut quickly and straight.
