Simplicity 2172: Pivot Method to Increase Waist

Hi!

I’m working on Simplicity 2172, and am using the pivot method to increase the waist in the pattern. My only confusion is how to work the method on the back pieces, since it’s made of 4 separate pieces. Would I repeat the method on each piece separately still dividing by four?

If you’re not increasing it by a tremendous amount, I would just do the increase on the pattern pieces that include the side seams so you would only be altering one front and one back pattern. That way, you don’t have to worry about dividing it further. I hope this helps and please post a pic when you finish your skirt. 🙂
