Sewing Stretch Fabrics (lycra, spandex, etc)

Hello All!

I am about to embark on a new project in attempting to sew a dancesport dress (I have a ballroom dance competition coming up in the fall) and I am looking for any/all resources on sewing with stretch fabrics (lycra, spandex, stretch lace, etc.) and sequins/sequined fabric that cover things like technique and tips & tricks. I have a good sewing machine, as well as a 4-thread serger.

Any information you may also have on sewing leotards (the base of all the dresses is a leotard), as well as sources for good quality non-hotfix rhinestones, would be greatly appreciated!

we don’t have any tutorials on sewing lycra fabric yet but it’s on the list. we do have a tutorial on working with confetti dot fabric coming up in a couple weeks. Hopefully, you’ll find this one helpful.
