Sewing an Invisible Zipper in a dress with a lining

Hi Professor Pincushion,

I just watched your video on How to Sew an Invisible Zipper into a dress with a lining.

My question is: is the invisible zipper put in first and then the lining is added and hand stitched OR is the lining in first.

The reason I ask is in the tutorial the dress is blue and then there appeared to be a white lining fabric where these were already attached. At the end of the video you review hoe to attach the lining to the already sewn in invisible zipper.

That white fabric in the beginning has me confused.

Sorry for the confusion. You’d put in the zipper first and then you’d do the lining, hand sewing the lining to the back of the zipper.
