Good morning. There is a pattern I want to try and make, Simplicity #2368. My hip and waist measurements fall in totally different pattern size directions. My waist is 36 1/2″ and hips are 43″. How would I cut out the pattern pieces and be able to salvage the patterns if I need to change the size if the muslin doesn’t fit? I don’t know if my question makes sense. Like if I cut out a size 20 but end up needing a size 22?

It’ll take some time, but you can make a copy of pattern size 20 using a tracing wheel and pattern paper (or a large sheet of paper). You can see an example of this here. This way you’re not actually cutting your pattern pieces until you’re sure of your size. You can also cut out size 20 and then do a pattern alteration to increase the waist. We have a tutorial on this here. Hope this helps!
