I watched the crotch adjustment video which was very helpful. I’m returning to sewing after years away. Sewing was easy when I was younger and didn’t have a mature woman’s shape. I have a very flat stomach thankfully and have a rounded rear end. I’m also a petite. Do you recommend doing the crotch adjustment first then do a petite adjustment for the length? I normally need to lower the waistline by about 1.5 inches. Thanks so much. I

It depends. Are you making the petite adjustment using preprinted lines that fall on the crotch curve or are you just shortening the bottom of the legs. If it’s the former, then I’d do the petite adjustment first but, for the latter, it probably doesn’t matter. What type of adjustment are you planning for the crotch length? If you’re decreasing the front but increasing the back, you might run into an issue. If this is the case, you might want to make your change at the top of the crotch curve lines instead of at the bottom like in my tutorial. So, if for example, you want to add an 1″ to the back, you bring up the top of the crotch line 1″ and then blend this new point towards the waistline, creating a smooth curve. You can then do the opposite for the front, bring it down a bit and blend a line to the waistline. I would do it like my video if you’re bringing the front and back both down or both up by a close /equal number. Hope that makes sense.

Thank you for responding so quickly. After thinking about your suggestion and trying it out I’m happy to say it worked perfectly. So very glad I found you.
