    How do I know where to place notches when making a pattern?

    You can really do notches anywhere you want, there’s not really a wrong way to do it. For me, I just make sure to NOT put a notch exactly in the center of a line but more off center. That way if there are two seams that are similar lengths, the notch will keep you from getting confused. And make sure you put pattern seams that are supposed to match, next to each other so you can put the notch in the same spot.
