This is probably a stupid question, but I was wondering how other members discard their used needles. I worry that by just throwing them in the trash, a needle could fall out if there’s a hole in the trash bag and since garbage men aren’t usually meticulous when collecting the trash, I worry that a child could come along and wind up with a sewing machine needle in his or her foot. I don’t always have a jar to put them in. Is there a good way to dispose of them and not have to worry about potentially harming someone with them?

That’s a good question! Instead of a jar, you can also use an empty water bottle or milk jug. It’ll probably take you awhile to fill it up.

I hadn’t thought of that. Thank you!
