    What is the difference between interlining and lining?

    interlining is usually thicker. If you’re making, for example, a winter coat, an interlining is going to add thickness and extra warmth. If I’m making a dress I might use an a light cotton lining but if I’m making a coat, I might use a thick fleece. Hope this helps.
