I’d like to make a raincoat out of some cotton that I’ve purchased. You stated that it’s best to adhere the vinyl, prior to cutting the pieced out. Since the widest fusible vinyl that I’ve found is 20inch wide, I will have to adhere it to my 54 inch fabric in pieces. Any suggestions?

sorry, for the delay. I just got back from out of town and still playing catch up. I don’t think you’ll find any fusible vinyl that will come in 54″. You can butt up vinyl edges or overlap them but, to me, it doesn’t look completely seamless. Hopefully, none of your pattern pieces are over 20″ in width. If this is true, I would plan out your pattern layout then that will tell you where you need to place your fusible vinyl. This may mean that you’ll need to buy extra fabric for this type of custom layout but I think you’ll be happier in the end that you won’t have any weird clear vinyl overlaps.
