I have McCalls pattern M7311 to make two flower girl patterns. For a size 5 it says 8 7/8 yards of fabric. Wow. Can I fold the skirt pattern in half and put it on the fold of fabric and save buying all that fabric? Thank you so much!

    Regards,
    Lillian

As long as all the grainline arrows are going in the same direction you can do your own layout. I don’t know what the skirt pattern looks like so I can’t say anything for certain but if it’s perfectly symmetrical you should be able to place it on the fold. Just check to see if there are any special markings that’s only on one side of the skirt. That is a lot of fabric!
