    Hi Prof
I was wondering if you could make the basic skirt from pieces cut on the cross grain rather than cut on the straight grain? I bought some lovely blue and white stripped material thinking the stripes went horizontally between the salvages ends, but realised that the stripes actually went vertical instead opps! Could I still make the basic skirt if all the pieces were cut the same way with the stripes running horizontally?
    Thanks in advance!
P.S I’ve made three skirts now using modifications to your basic skirt pattern, I’ve lowered the waist in one, and attached a yoke with a lining, thanks so much! Pictures to follow 🙂

I forgot to mention above that the material in question is thin 100% printed cotton, not much stretch in it at all.

    Thanks!

yes, you can definitely do that as long as your grainline arrows are all consistent. 🙂 I can’t wait to see pics!
