Cargo Pocket

Cargo PocketThe cargo pocket is like the patch pocket's big brother. It's a pocket that's sewn on to the right side of your garment but it has a pleat, allowing for expand-ability and also a flap on top to keep things even more secure. Most cargo pockets are found on cargo shorts but you can really put them anywhere and this version is a simple cargo pocket that could be done by anyone. This tutorial shows you how to create your own cargo pocket and flap pattern from scratch. Then it covers how to sew it all together. By making your own pattern, you can add a cargo pocket, in any size, to any garment. This is a great way to keep your pocket-able items secure without too much effort.
