I’m looking for a little help on the dog vest/coat. The dog is a bird dog for hunting and my brother would like a briar proof chest and tummy protection. I’m thinking of putting the opening on the upper back of the dog with parachute clips. This will cover the body but the legs are my concern, should I draft a medium length sleeve for the dog? How would you do it.

      Thanks
      Shawn

The sleeve shape will mostly be rectangular shape because you’re creating a tube, so the main measurements you need are the length of the sleeve and how big you want the circumference to be. The hardest part is the top of the sleeve because you want to make sure the dog has full movement of his leg while walking and running. If I were you, I’d just buy some cheap muslin fabric and start experimenting. Chances are the top of the sleeve will be wider than the bottom of the sleeve. good luck!
