Conversion of Measurements

Normally when I buy patterns, I buy fabrics at the same time and i’m usually having the staff from the fabric store assist me.
This time around I only just brought the patterns and i’ll buy the fabric later on down the track.

Now my problem is, I’m not too sure how to convert the yards (size on the pattern packet) to metres.

I was wondering if you had any advice on how to convert measurements?
